About the Artist

"I create contemporary abstract landscapes that turn observation into emotion. My work begins in reality but transforms through intuition and process into expressive & colourful abstractions.

I explore the harmony within contrast, aiming to capture the mood of memory and impression rather than precise detail.

My art mirrors how I think and move through the world: curious & analytical. I translate what I learn from experience & travel into systems of knowledge, inviting viewers to see the meaning behind the layers."

Kejal Dadia is a contemporary artist based in Mumbai, India. Originally trained as an architect, she discovered her true calling in fine art and has been painting full time for the past four years. Her lifelong connection to creativity began before she could even talk. A graduate of the Milan Art Institute, Kejal continues to refine her craft, transforming her analytical eye and intuitive process into a distinctive artistic voice.

Kejal’s creations are a dialogue between chaos and clarity. Drawing from travel and lived experience, she transforms natural landscapes into expressive fields of color that capture both place & feeling. Through contrast and layered process, she focuses on the atmosphere of memory rather than detail.

She invites viewers to explore the quiet structures that connect perception and place, with the aim to evoke a few of the viewer’s own memories as well.

“Clarity is not absence of complexity — it’s mastery of it.” she says.

An introspective learner and avid foodie, today she works from her home studio — a space designed for freedom and insight. She finds creative energy in exploring new countries and cultures. Away from her journeys, she leads a quiet life — reading, learning, and spending time with family. Morning walks by the Arabian sea often shape her reflective, observant approach to art. Kejal’s current series celebrates the beauty of nature’s diversity, as she continues to expand her practice and bring her work to audiences across the globe.

My love for the arts began when I was a babbling 2 year old.

My love for the arts began when I was a babbling 2 year old. It came to a grinding halt in my pursuit of an architecture degree. As much as I loved architecture, it didn’t fulfil me professionally. Then came the pandemic. What a time it was to self-reflect. Picking up a paintbrush after so long brought a rush of excitement unlike anything else. So after a year and half of juggling a job while selling art on the side, I finally decided to dive in headfirst.

Inspiration & Process

I begin in reality, and let the process take over. I build compositions through light gradients and inspired spatial scenes that guide the viewer’s eye across the canvas. Engraved textures reveal underlayers of colour, creating depth & subtle movement. My deliberate use of complementary contrasts and balanced asymmetry establishes visual harmony.

Hobbies and Travel

Outside of work, I'm all about exploring new food spots and diving into fun crafts. Travelling to new places is a big passion of mine too, but honestly, nothing tops hanging out with my nephew and having some quality playtime.

The more I learn, the simpler my brush becomes.
